MINIMUM ATAR SUBJECTS
Students must complete a minimum four ATAR subjects (including the WACE exam) to achieve an ATAR.
GENERAL COURSES & EXAMS
General courses do not have exams as part of the assessment structure.
SUBJECT AVAILABILITY
All subjects are offered conditionally and will only be timetabled if there are sufficient numbers of students.
VET ACHIEVEMENTS
VET courses do not have grades allocated but students achieve a set of competencies.
WACE EXTERNAL EXAM
If studying an ATAR subject, the WACE external exam must be attempted to achieve credit for the course.
GENERAL STUDENTS WACE
General students no longer need to complete a VET Certificate to achieve the WACE.
ATAR MATH LOADING
Maths Specialist and Maths Methods have a 10% loading added to the final scaled mark for the purpose of calculating the ATAR.
GENERAL & ATAR COMBINED
A General student enrolled in one or more ATAR subjects must sit Mazenod exams as scheduled and sit the external WACE exam.
ATAR & VET COMBINED
ATAR students may enrol in a VET course.
ATAR & OUTDOOR ED
It is recommended that ATAR students do not enrol in Outdoor Education as they miss school days due to two expeditions.
OUTDOOR ED & APPLIED I.T
Students in Outdoor Education and Applied Information Technology will complete the SCSA course in Semester 1, Year 11 and the VET certificate for the next 3 semesters.
GENERAL & VET COMBINED
General students may enrol in VET courses provided by an external Registered Training Organisation.
